There are so many skincare companies out there, what makes LumiPlexion Skincare different?

At LumiPlexion Skincare, we take pride in giving each client personal attention in order to best address their skin care needs. Whether you choose to email or call us, or come by our office, we are real people answering your questions. You won't receive automated responses and you will always deal with a friendly and knowledgeable associate who will make you feel special and will help you on an individual basis. This is why we encourage our clients to contact us regularly so we may adjust your skin care regime as needed. We know our products make your skin feel fabulous and look radiant and we are excited to help you restore your skin's natural balance and clarity, one client at a time.

What is an antioxidant and why should I use it on my skin?

An antioxidant is a substance that counters the negative effects of free radicals - which are formed when oxygen is metabolized. Free radicals travel through cells and disrupt the structure of other molecules, causing cellular damage. Such cell damage is believed to contribute to premature aging, wrinkles and pigmentation, not to mention the increased risk of skin cancer. Vitamins A, C, and E as well as many fruits contain antioxidants. LumiPlexion has specially formulated products which contain high doses of these naturally occurring compounds that deliver additional amounts of key antioxidants to the skin, thus giving the skin a line of defense against aging.

Are your products for men too?

Absolutely! Men are also interested in looking and feeling their best, and that's why our products are formulated with men in mind. Our products leave a non-greasy finish, don't have a ton of fragrance and are attractively packaged without fluff. LumiPlexion Skincare is for both men and women who want a customized skincare therapy with exceptional products that really work.

I'm 35 years old…shouldn't I stop breaking out by now?

We know it's a bummer when you're worried about the onset of wrinkles at the same time you're still fighting with acne breakouts. Unfortunately, (or fortunately – guess it depends on your perspective!) you are not alone. Acne is a genetic skin problem and contrary to popular belief, many individuals do not outgrow their breakouts. I've tried so many products – do your products really work? I'm getting frustrated with all the promises.

Yes, they do work. Since 1989, we have been an industry leader worldwide treating acne-prone skin with our award-winning skincare products. At LumiPlexion, we offer solutions for other skin types too – aging skin, sensitive and reactive skin, and rough and dehydrated skin. Our products are different than ones you may have used in the past. We formulate our products with the fewest number of ingredients, leaving out buffers or irritating agents, and as a result, the active ingredients are delivered right to your skin, so you will see and feel a difference. Of course, we ask our clients to check in with us on a regular basis to review their skincare routines – to make the needed adjustments to stay on track with their goals.

Do you have a physical location where you see clients?

Yes, we are located in Walnut Creek, California, USA. At our office, we offer therapeutic facials which are customized to individual client needs. We offer deep cleansing facials that remove impurities from the pores and enzyme facials that exfoliate dehydrated skin cells from the surface of the skin, leaving it smooth and feeling fresh. The final mask in our facials is selected for each client's skin type. We also offer individual consultations to review your specific skincare needs and recommend a customized treatment plan to attain those goals. At our skincare clinic, people call us with questions, which we personally and thoroughly answer and they drop in all the time to pick up products and review their skin treatments. We are here to help you with your skin and we encourage as much client contact as possible – how else are we going to help you continue to improve your skin health and clarity?

Who uses LumiPlexion Skincare products?

LumiPlexion Skincare products are for men and women and many products are safe enough for children to use too. Our approach is simple and straight forward, and we have proven skin care products for all skin types - whether you want to address the signs of aging or you suffer from breakouts or you just want great products from a company who stands behind them, LumiPlexion has products specially formulated for you.

Why do products I used to use and really like, not work anymore?

As we age, our skin changes. It doesn't absorb or metabolize ingredients like it used to because of changes in the epidermis. What was appropriate for your skin in one decade is not necessarily appropriate for your skin in the next decade. As your skin changes, so must your skincare products, which is why at LumiPlexion, we encourage our clients to contact us frequently – to keep up with your changing skin.

Do you guarantee your products will work?

Yes, and we'll also exchange products, or make products stronger or weaker to better suit your needs. Sometimes it takes some tinkering with your skincare program to get it just right for your skin type, and we want you to know that we'll work with you. Our goal is that you are completely satisfied with our products and the way they make your skin look and feel.

Do you sell makeup? And how do I get the right color for my skin?

Yes, we do sell makeup. For coverage and concealing, we have Custom Blended Liquid Foundation and Loose Mineral Foundation. To start, we ask you for a description of your complexion, the name of the color you are currently using, and the brand name. We'll also ask you about any undertones your skin may have – some people are more yellow, some are more olive, and some are so fair they can never find a foundation light enough at the makeup counters. Some clients will email a photograph as well. This gives us an idea of your skin tone. If you order the Custom Blended Liquid Foundation, we'll mix up a batch and send it to you. We also keep a small amount of your foundation at our office for reorders. We get it right about 95% of the time, but sometimes we have to send additional pigment to you if it's not the right color. So just call or email us and let us know if you need a correction for your foundation. It's surprising how many we blend a day and how many we get right! To figure out your correct color for the Loose Mineral Foundation, we will send a few samples of different colors to you to test out on your skin. Once you figure out what color you are, let us know and we'll send out the appropriate one. Or sometimes, you may be a combination of a couple of colors – so we'll custom blend a powder for you before we send it out. To match a blush color exactly, we ask you to send in a sample of the color you like – and then we'll send you one of ours that best matches.
